NIGHTCLUBS

There’s a reason why, the world over, people think of nightclubs when they think of Ibiza: the island boasts some of the world’s finest clubs, bar none. Its parties are legendary precisely because they are so exciting, so beautifully situated, so unique. In this list of the best clubs in Ibiza, we’ve prioritised all the things that make a club great: world-class music, fantastic atmosphere, unrivalled service. Get ready for the Ibiza experience.

Perhaps one of the most iconic Ibiza clubs of all, Amnesia is a mecca for hedonists and partygoers from across the world. It first opened its doors back in 1976, and has hosted some of the biggest parties ever, including Pyramid and Elrow. Going to a club in Ibiza is much more than having a few drinks and a dance; the best clubs put on a show that can transport you into another world.

That’s why this award-winning club is famed for its unique entertainment. Elrow, for example, delivered some awesome thematic shows – such as Psychedelic Trip and Rowlympic Games. The Amnesia party brand is so popular that they now take the party to different locations across the world such as London and Mallorca.

Amnesia pulls the crowds with world-class DJs such as Carl Cox, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Adam Beyer, Chase and Status and many other DJ gods. The party never stops throughout the summer season, with events taking place every evening.

As the name suggests, this club actually hosts its nights in and around a natural cave. A venue like no other, Cova Santa was bought by the Amnesia group in 2001, specifically to turn it into a clubbing venue.

More recently, the venue has had a top-quality restaurant added to the entertainment mix – but there are still some great clubbing events taking place here throughout the summer. WooMooN is the big party event, and in 2018 this saw the likes of Blondish and Bedoiun entertain the crowds.

Home of underground music, DC-10 attracts revellers who love hard beats and like to have fun. There are two dance floors and a terrace, and the club operates a relaxed dress code allowing you to feel comfortable as you become entranced by the music. What really sets DC-10 apart from its club competitors, though, is that admission fees have always remained fairly low – and we’re not just saying that! DC-10 is a fantastic deal.

The club started off life in an old hangar located at the end of the airport – perfect if you are just flying in for a few hours of dancing! It has seen a bit of a revamp since it first opened back in 1999, but the ethos remains the same: no-hold- barred fun!

The club also offers a route for up-and-coming, undiscovered DJ talent as well as bringing some of the biggest names to the turntables. DC-10 is frequented by some of the top DJing talent in the world: The Martinez Brothers, Apollonia and Seth Troxler to name a few. Regular nights abound: Circoloco is the name given to the famous Monday sessions that have long been popular with clubbers looking for underground techno pleasure, along with Jamie Jones’ legendary party Paradise each Wednesday.

Owned by the Pacha group, Destino is set on the clifftops of Talamanca, offering a party experience with the best views you could imagine. The actual nightclub area is in the basement of the venue and is called TOX, although their infamous daytime parties take place out in the open-air surrounding the pool.  Destino are one to watch – Their daytime parties have been attracting a lot of attention, with world-class artists such as Guy Gerber, Solomun, Marco Carola & Jamie Jones hosting regular events in this super stylish setting.

If you stay at the attached hotel, you are given free access to the nightclub which has seen Solomun and Sven Vath perform in recent years. For those looking for a more stylish clubbing experience, the plush hotel grounds of Destino are worlds apart from the backstreet and busy main road clubbing experiences you find with other venues.

Having undergone a huge renovation in 2013, Eden has come back into the mix as one of the best clubs in Ibiza. With new ownership, the once flagging club has been able to compete with the rest to throw a great party night.

It first opened in 1999 and has hosted events from Gatecrasher, Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Godskitchen and Defected – and has seen live performances from Lady Gaga and Faithless. The venue has a main room, plus a second room, several bars and two VIP sections. The Void sound system is one of the best in the clubbing business and will help create that awesome atmosphere that everyone hypes about. With a 5000 capacity, it is one of the biggest as well as one of the best clubs on the White Isle.

This club is part of the Ibiza Gran Hotel complex, and also boasts an excellent restaurant. It even has the world-famous Casino de Ibiza next door. If you fancy dining out with a difference, you can eat from the fine dining menu whilst being entertained by live performers. The roof terrace often boasts street food and fabulous cocktails, which can be devoured whilst enjoying spectacular views of old town & Dalt Villa. The owners mission is to explore how food, music and art can all be enjoyed in the same place – and it is fair to say their vision is proving to be successful.

Later on, the venue is transformed into a chic nightclub where people can party into the next day, with live music and DJs playing electronic music. There is a different event to enjoy six days of the week: We particularly love Bedouin on Sundays!  Whatever day you choose to visit HEART, you will be looking at a night full of high-energy fun.

Brought to you by the same great people that introduced us to Ushuaia, this plush new club is one of the most popular party venues on the island. The club was only launched in 2017 and occupies the location that was previously the world-famous Space. However, they haven’t just stuck a new name on the outside; they have completely transformed the venue into a party paradise. Hi has been named the #4 top club in the world…with good reason.

Over their first season, Hi welcomed some of the world’s top DJs – including residents Black Coffee, Kolsch, Steve Lawler, Joris Voorn, Armin van Buuren and Housekeeping, as well as guests such as Steve Angello, Todd Terry, Waff, Loco Dice and Roger Sanchez. The party starts from midnight and goes on well into the next day … for those who can keep up the pace!

Saturday nights see the return of Black Coffee, who’s weekly residency is famed across the island and comes highly recommended. David Guetta has taken over Friday nights with F*** Me I’m Famous, whilst Tale Of Us present world-renowned Afterlife each Thursday.  Sunday’s Glitterbox is a great event for experiencing your first taste of Ibiza, and will also serve to keep the seasoned clubber entertained with vocal house music all night long. You will even find DJs playing disco in the toilets ensuring your night is filled with music, wherever you are in the building.

Both a glamorous seafront restaurant and cabaret club, Lío is a staple on the island’s thriving VIP nightlife scene. Situated within the exclusive Marina Botafoch, the venue is famous for its excellent gastronomy, impressive live shows and high-octane club nights.

With breath-taking views of Ibiza port and Dalt Vila, a beautifully decorated interior plus a cosmopolitan jet-set vibe, Lío Ibiza has fast become the go-to night-time destination for those who desire an impeccable dining experience, dazzling entertainment and the option to party until late.

Your experience at Lío Ibiza begins with world-class cuisine and signature cocktails accompanied by sultry, singing burlesque dancers performing world-class cabaret shows – right at the end of your table. In other words, each dining experience at Lío is extraordinarily unique.

A perfect choice for a stylish, fun Ibiza experience on any night of the week, Lío Ibiza also attracts music lovers from far and wide: you can enjoy the best in house music and shake it until dawn as million-dollar yachts float opposite in the sea under the starry skies of Ibiza’s glorious waterfront.

The mother of the superclubs, Pacha was the first to open its doors – way back in 1973. Pacha is still one of the biggest clubs in Ibiza and across the world, with franchises in Spain, US, Brazil, England and Germany and a few other countries. The first Pacha nightclub actually opened way back in 1967 in Sitges, so these guys have been throwing top parties for over half a century.

The famous cherry logo is recognisable around the world as a sign of a good party venue. Music lovers flock to Pacha to hear the likes of Calvin Harris each and every Tuesday, Marco Carola’s Music On each Thursday, Dixon’s Transmoderna every Thursday, Solomun’s +1 each Sunday and Bob Sinclar, at Paris by Night on Saturdays. Meanwhile, Wednesdays are dedicated to the island’s hippy heritage, with Flower Power bringing a bit of love and peace mid-week.

There are five different music areas to explore in Pacha, with secret corridors and different types of music to discover. The Main Room is where the big party is at, but you can also retreat to the comfort of the Roof Terrace, chill out on the couches and order some nice cocktails looking up at the night sky. There is plenty to explore in Pacha, so don’t be surprised if you get lost first time around – all the more reason to come back!

One of the powerhouses of the clubbing scene, Privilege is the largest club in the world. It started off way back in 1978, when it was known as Club San Rafael; it changed its name to Ku Club in the 80s and then finally over to Privilege in 1995. With a capacity of 10,000, Privilege is the place for you if you like to be surrounded by lots of people when you party.

There are fourteen bars around the club and two VIP zones, because one obviously couldn’t be enough! Other areas include open-air chill out zones for when you need to cool down for a bit – and if you are still there at sunrise then you can head to Vista Club, which is a room with glass windows from floor to ceiling, affording unbelievable views of the sky at sunrise.

Famous artists have performed at the venue throughout the decades, including Freddie Mercury, Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet in their prime. Over the years, the club has continued to attract the big names from the music industry, both as guests and as performers. The place still has it, too: the best party of 2018 had to be Privilege’s Resistance, with Sasha, John Digweed and infamous Carl Cox. Simply put, the club’s parties are legendary, with an atmosphere that you will remember for a long time.

Underground isn’t considered a ‘superclub’, but it offers something different for those hedonists who like to avoid the more commercial and crowded clubs. The location isn’t too far from the busy streets where you will find local clubs Amnesia and Privilege – but if, well, underground vibes are your thing then you will not be disappointed.

You might not see much promotional material for this venue … and that is just how the owners like it. Those who are ‘in the know’ can experience one of the more intimate clubbing experiences on the island at Underground.

Not far from the strip of bars in Playa d’en Bossa is the famous Ushuaia Ibiza Hotel, home to the famous Ushuaia club’s events. Guests staying at the hotel can enjoy the evening’s entertainment from their suites, and there is also a large VIP area to enjoy the fun from. Set around the huge main swimming pool at the hotel (which is closed off during the evening), this outdoor event is hugely popular with those that like to get out during the afternoon.

It opened in 2011 and since then has had some star names on its line-up – including the legendary ANTS with Andrea Olivia, Maya Jane Coles and Groove Armada, David Guetta with BIG, Martin Garrix, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. The gates open on the early afternoon, and the events finish at midnight. The open-air setting and daylight start makes this unique to any of the other big clubs.
